PICS 2016 Annual Report Released

We are excited to present our 2016 Annual Report! 2016 was a big year for us, during which we more than met the challenge the Board made to itself — to double the size of the program in 3 years!  Thank you to all of our donors, supporters, board members, student advisory council members, volunteers, partner organizations, and interns for a great year of growth.

Planning for the Future, Investing in Our Youth The  LEAVE your LEGACY endowment, created at Princeton and invested with PRINCO, encourages alumni to contribute to an endowment whose purposes are:  To insure that PICS is able to fulfill its mission  for many years to come, providing a bold legacy of service to Princeton, its undergraduates and alumni, and a testament to the  civic engagement expected of all  Princetonians; To ensure PICS’ financial health and cultivate new leadership among classes of all ages who recognize PICS’ mission as vital to the realization of Princeton’s commitment to service to all humanity; and To continue to provide Princeton undergraduates of all backgrounds and circumstances equal opportunities for experiential learning through paid summer internships in civic engagement and community service.

PICS partners with Career Services!

Beginning June 1 of this year, Career Services will partner with and provide support for the Princeton Internships in Civic Service (PICS) program, an alumni-sponsored organization helping students connect with nonprofits and Princeton alumni through paid summer internships. “The Career and Life Vision program teaches our students how they can use their Princeton experience as a laboratory to better understand themselves, and the overwhelming feedback from students who participated in PICS is how valuable the experiences have been as a source of learning,” said Sanghvi.

Pics Enters a New Era

    Princeton Internships in Civic Service (PICS) is very pleased to announce that its close working relationship with the University’s Office of Career Services, which has been developing ever since the arrival of Career Services’ current Executive Director Pulin Sanghvi about two years ago, is becoming a partnership that will enable PICS to better address the student demand for internships in the non-profit sector.

Richard Lu’15 named Rhodes Scholar

It’s been a busy month of congratulating accomplished PICS alum! Congratulations to Richard Lu’15 who was recently awarded the Rhodes Scholarship! During his time as a PICS intern, Lu worked at the WashU Medical School. According to the Prince, Lu will be working on a degree for health care with a cross disciplinary approach to the social aspect.
