Marissa Mejia Class of 2023

Intern, Ka Honua Momona International

"[My best work experience was] In short: everything. I valued being able to perform hands-on conservation work after over a year of quarantine; I valued being able to work with indigenous peoples (particularly Hawaiian elders) and uplift their voices within the environmental realm; I valued working with incredibly powerful wāhine (women) who showed me how mentally, emotionally, and physically strong women can be; I valued living in a community that was full of people who share my skin color and ancestral roots; and so much more."
