92nd Street Y

92nd Street Y is a world-class cultural and community center where people all over the world connect through culture, arts, entertainment and conversation. For over 140 years, we have harnessed the power of arts and ideas to enrich, enlighten and change lives, and the power of community to repair the world. As a proudly Jewish organization, 92Y enthusiastically welcomes and reaches out to people of all ages, races, faiths and backgrounds while embracing Jewish values like learning and self-improvement, the importance of family, the joy of life, and giving back to our wonderfully diverse and growing community, both locally and around the world.

We are a catalyst, with a mission to inspire action by bringing together today’s most exceptional thinkers and influential partners for social good, like #GivingTuesday, the global day of giving that was created at 92Y, and our professional and international fellowship programs. We curate conversations with the world’s foremost thought leaders to deepen understanding and engage both the mind and spirit of our audiences – with programs on our stages and shared globally on 92YOnDemand.org. We are a world-class performing arts center, presenting classical, jazz, popular and world music and a wide variety of dance performances. 92Y is also a legendary literary destination for where the most celebrated writers and discerning readers have gathered since 1939.

Internship Description

92Y would benefit from sponsoring a Princeton intern in the Continuing Education department, which produces online and in-person humanities classes and lectures for our life-long learner adult audience. These interns would provide fresh eyes and ideas in assessing existing programs and considering new programs as the upcoming season is assembled. We would also greatly benefit from the additional assistance with the summer season productions, with the preparations for the coming season, and with research for future seasons.

Our summer intern should be motivated and deliver on assigned marketing projects as it relates to fundraising, social media and other outreach. Each intern will benefit from the experience within a nonprofit that also operates as a business with several different teams working toward one goal. They will learn how they play role as one person on a large team, while doing work that illustrates their ability to contribute to the big picture in any company with the bonus of working for a great cause.
