The mission of Ada S. McKinley Community Services, Inc. is to empower, educate, and employ people to change lives and strengthen communities. Our vision is that all people have the opportunity for education and employment. The agency recently celebrated its 100th anniversary and is now one of the largest human services organizations in the country serving more 7,000 people annually at over 70 locations (primarily in Illinois/Chicago with additional sites in Indiana and Wisconsin). The agency has a total of three primary areas of services: Child Development and Youth; Employment and Community Support; and Behavioral Health and Clinical. Services rendered daily include: head start programs; tutoring; mentoring and college placement; foster care; residential; youth and family counseling; and employment training and placement. We have hosted Princeton interns for several summers now. Each year that intern focuses on a project that improves our services to people in need.

Internship Description
Our summer intern should be motivated and deliver on assigned marketing projects as it relates to fundraising, social media and other outreach. Each intern will benefit from the experience within a nonprofit that also operates as a business with several different teams working toward one goal. They will learn how they play role as one person on a large team, while doing work that illustrates their ability to contribute to the big picture in any company with the bonus of working for a great cause.

Internship Qualifications
The ideal candidate:
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Creative and innovative when contributing both both established and new projects
- Proficient using the latest versions of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Technology-savvy
- A great researcher
- Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone, with high professionalism and customer service
Additional or preferred qualifications:
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Experience working with nonprofits/charity work is a plus
