Catalytic Impact Foundation

Catalytic Impact Foundation (CIF) is a 501c3, not-for-profit foundation. The mission of CIF is to advance innovation in the area of health and life science that addresses high unmet medical need. CIF aggregates philanthropic capital to make equity investments in transformative early-stage companies creating sustainable and long-lasting impact. Using the discipline of traditional venture Capital, CIF focuses on areas of healthcare that are significantly underfunded, and where there are diseases or conditions that are undertreated, or for which there are no treatments. Particular areas of focus are in brain health (including mental health), children’s health, rare disease, women’s health, aging and health equity. CIF also is committed to supporting diversity in leadership, with a particular focus on investing in women entrepreneurs, who receive less than 3 percent of venture capital funding in the US. Approximately 40 percent of our portfolio companies are led by women.

As a non-profit, we run a lean operation relying heavily on volunteers who have a depth of experience and passion for this work. A Princeton intern would provide enormous benefit to CIF, as there is an opportunity for them to contribute to our impact investing platform in a meaningful way, both helping us to further our work as well as providing the intern with valuable skills and experience in this cutting-edge and growing space of impact investing.
