Eleventh Judicial Circuit

Judge Fine of the Eleventh Judicial Court will be assigned to the Complex Business Litigation Division of the The Circuit Court Civil Division effective January 2022. This division hears cases with damages in excess of $750,000 in commercial cases usually involving more than 2 parties. 

The work of the intern can contribute to the effectiveness of the judicial process. The intern will observe and prepare memoranda on pending cases, including, after appropriate training, legal memoranda. Prospective interns should contact prior interns to learn about their experiences.

Internship Description

The intern will monitor court proceedings, summarize court documents, and perform factual and limited legal research. The student will watch civil trails and assist the judge in preparing for hearings and trials including basic legal research.

Internship Qualifications

  • Demonstrated writing skill 
  • Competence with Word and Excel 
  • A working laptop 
  • Curiosity or experience in civil justice issues

Writing Sample Required

  • At least one paper on any topic of at least 5 pages of 1,250 words.
