PICS Organization Name
L.A. Theatre Works
L.A. Theatre Works is a non-profit media arts organization based in Los Angeles whose mission for over 25 years has been to present, preserve and disseminate classic and contemporary plays and to promote the use of theatre as a teaching tool across disciplines.
We are an entrepreneurial organization that constantly seeks out new opportunities to achieve our mission. Our unique hybrid form of audio theatre and innovative use of technology in the production and dissemination of theatre keeps this venerable art form thriving, assuring wide and affordable access.
We serve over 7 million people annually through our Los Angeles Live Series, weekly National Broadcast Series and online streaming, National Tours, Audio Publishing and educational outreach programs.
LATW is dedicated to developing new technology-based educational resources and platforms which benefits high-school and higher education students, teachers and scholars.
Sponsoring a Princeton intern furthers LATW's commitment to including those same end-users in the conceptualization and design process of our new media projects to spark fresh new ideas while ensuring the most pressing needs of our target constituents are met.
LATW uses our recordings to support the teaching of themes, concepts and history in subjects ranging from literature to social studies to science. This internship offers the opportunity to develop curricular materials, based on those recordings, for our new online educational platform. We are looking for someone with a passion for arts education, and a desire to work collaboratively with LATW staff to create interdisciplinary curricula befitting an arts and media company with a social mission.
In addition to participation in this educational IT capacity project, the intern will have opportunities to gain exposure to and have hands-on participate in all various aspects of LATW's operations, from event production, marketing, audio publishing and audio sales and project management.
- Interest and/or experience in arts education.
- Familiarity with national educational standards.
- Experience creating study guides.

We are located in west Los Angeles, where affordable temporary housing can be quite challenging to secure. While public transportation from areas within the larger LA area is available, such as LA's metro-system, LA-based candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
The nature of the work may allow for some schedule flexibility from the work hours above and remote work days to be mutually agreed upon between the intern and LATW.
