Student Sponsor Partners

The mission of Student Sponsor Partners is to harness the power of quality education and mentorship to help low-income and academically average New York City youth escape the cycle of poverty and reach their highest potential.

We assist NYC high school students accepted into the scholarship program with college and career prep in addition to a variety of other staff led and corporate volunteer webinars.

It will be mutually beneficial for a Communications Intern to get daily experience in the communications field for a non-profit as well as be a part of the innovative process for expanding brand awareness.

Internship Description

Founded in 1986 by investment banker Peter Flanigan, Student Sponsor Partners has financed and supported thousands of students through high school by pairing them with sponsors who fund their private high school education, mentors who provide guidance, and dedicated staff at partner schools across the city.

What sets Student Sponsor Partners apart is that we work with the most vulnerable kids in New York City. Many have been homeless, countless live in NYCHA, some come from highly unstable backgrounds, and all are in need. We believe in what we call the “holy trinity” of support – it includes a financial sponsor, access to a quality education, and a dedicated mentor.

Student Sponsor Partners is seeking a Marketing and Communications Intern to support these efforts. This internship is an opportunity to experience aspects of marketing and communications while making a difference in your community.
