  1. Embrace Freedom
  2. Lead Tirelessly
  3. Live Compassionately
  4. Amplify Unity

Texas Children's would benefit from a PICS intern, as we are always looking for innovative and new ideas to apply to our hospital and community initiatives.

Bellaire, Texas

Internship Description

This summer, the PICS intern selected for Texas Children's will have the opportunity to work with our Population Health team, which works to identify health determinants in certain populations and apply interventions.

The PICS intern would have the opportunity analyze existing data and identify disparities between populations in the Houston area. From that research, the PICS intern would have the opportunity to research interventions that have been successful in similar communities and propose an intervention for a targeted population. If time allows, the PICS intern would also assist in implementing their proposal.

This will be a great opportunity for any student interested in advocacy, medicine or public health to learn about the healthcare industry and Population Health. In addition, students will be able to strengthen their data analytics, research and critical thinking skills.
