Rochelle Forni '18 gets video series published by the Society of Interventional Radiology

by justineh

Congratulations to former PICS intern Rochelle Forni '18 on getting her videos published! Rochelle was an intern in the Interventional Radiology department at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. The goal of the project was "to provide technical guidance to reduce complications, guarantee safety, and improve patient satisfaction." Her team obtained informed consent from patients to film procedures with a GoPro in order to create the videos. Rochelle conducted background research, learned about specific procedures from her mentors at Children's National, and edited the videos to serve as educational materials for residents, physicians, and the general public. The three videos in the series cover Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters, Arthrocentesis and Arthrography, and TMJ Injections.

My project, a video series about pediatric Interventional Radiology procedures, from last summer at Children's National Medical Center is officially published! The project, the knowledge I gained, the experiences I had, and the people I met would not have been possible without PICS, Children's National, and my mentors turned friends!
